This past week, 89,400 people came to Houston to attend this yearly event of the latest technology in the technologies for oil exploration, views on the future industry directions, operational integrity and risk management. If you happen to be an engineer, deepwater moorings, flow assurance, pipelines, ocean mining and inspection maintenance start to rock you. So, what is the point of reporting this you ask? Well, my friend and business partner Sara Rozin and I are members of the US Russia Chamber of Commerce. We attended a cocktail reception for representatives from Russia, Tyumen, Baku, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine and more. It was fun to converse in Russian. Our work is with expatriates, crisis management, mental health issues and developing wellness programs. We have teamed up and been working on Sakhalin Island since 2004 training psychologists, providing consultation, training in stress management, smoking cessation, and addiction assessment and treatment. The human element in the fast paced corporate world needs to keep pace with skills and tools in order to adjust to change and the requirements of an international assignment, new culture, and language.
